  • Tot volgend jaar lieve mensen ✨
  • Last week I read an article somewhere stating it’s supposedly harmful to call your kids your friends. The writer made some valid points, and I’m the first to admit children have certain needs only people in the role of a parent can fulfill. Like showing them right from wrong and safe from dangerous until they are old enough to make those judgements on their own. Their need for structure, guidance, rules and consequences. And I do believe it’s a parent’s responsibility to provide all of the above. Because in my opinion these things shape strong, kind, competent humans. 〰️ And yet.. I can’t help but feel as though this tiny human is the best friend I’ve ever had. We literally do everything together. We sleep and wake side by side. We do housework together. We bathe, shower and get dressed together. We watch tv, eat snacks, dance around and sing together. We laugh, cry, angry-snort and get frustrated together. Hell, I don’t even go to the bathroom alone anymore. 〰️ We’re only apart for the absolute necessities. Like work and certain errands. On special occasions I see other friends. But not too often. Because with a friend so great, who needs more? I’ve never loved anyone as much as I love him, and I know for absolute sure nobody has ever loved me as much as he loves me. And isn’t that what best friends is? 〰️ Yes, I’ll always be his mom first. And pull out all my momcards if the situation calls for it. But I can’t help feeling like, in addition to that, we’re also the very best of friends. 〰️ And someday he’ll come home from school with the biggest smile on his face. Telling me all about the new best friend he made that afternoon. And I’ll smile back and tell him that’s the most wonderful thing. And that his new best friend is so incredibly lucky. For I know how it feels to have a friend that great. To have a friend like him.

  • This world makes me dizzy, how’d we get so busy? No one tries to take the time it takes to turn your love into a love or friends into a family. Well, I don’t want any false religion. I will practice loving you with no conditions. I may never be a politician, or make a lot of money, hold a high position. You’re my mission and all my glory days are yours ♥️
  • VOORSTELRONDJE 〰️ Dit heb ik eigenlijk nog nooit gedaan in al die jaren dat ik Instagram gebruik. Maar wat een leuk idee: (heel erg gejat van @mama.lotje trouwens) een voorstelrondje! 〰️ Ik heb contact met heel veel toffe mama’s (en niet-mama’s) via dm’s maar ook heel veel leuke accounts gaan soms helaas alsnog langs me heen. En regelmatig verdwaal ik tussen mijn privéberichten en weet ik soms niet eens écht met wie ik aan het kletsen ben. Dus ik ben super benieuwd. Wie ben jij? Wat doe je? Wat zijn je hobby’s? Waar gebruik je Instagram voor? Stel jezelf voor! Ik ben ontzettend nieuwsgierig naar jullie. 〰️ Ik zal het spits afbijten: ik ben Esmee. Mama van Lev, wannabe schrijfster en gek op foto’s maken. Ooit had ik heel veel hobby’s, nu ben ik vooral heel erg moeder. Ik gebuik Instagram voornamelijk als een verzamelplaats van mooie (en minder mooie) momentjes die ik nooit wil vergeten en als uitlaatklep waar ik alles van me af kan schrijven.
